The conscious connection we share as humans is vital and precious. Remembering the other person is you is a gift that allows you to gain new perspectives in life. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life. It’s easy to get caught under a dark cloud of negativity. It’s easy to take out your anxiety, anger, and frustrations on others. It’s maybe not so easy to recognize that the other person is you. Every interaction you have with another in some way symbolizes some aspect of yourself.
“Recognize that the other person is you” is the first sutra of Yoga Bhajan’s Five Sutras of the Aquarian Age. Universal kindness is the key to the Aquarian Age. Kindness and compassion will be reflected back to you through the love you give to others.
When we divide and separate ourselves from one another either subconsciously or consciously through our thoughts we form destructive tendencies. When we come together and respect each other, we create constructive connection. This sutra tunes our heart and soul into consciousness, connection, and love.
